Verifying Your Outsourcing Payment Through Rentacoder

Verifying Your Outsourcing Payment

If you haven’t already, register a username for yourself so you can discuss this topic in our Outsourcing Security forum.

Our clients aren’t the only ones who need to verify their payments or identities to RentACoder. Sometimes, even we need to do the same — particularly when we’re asked to verify our Expert Guarantee. Although the process is seemingly straightforward, we did run into a slight problem that we want our clients to be aware of.

We’re therefore sharing our experience here with you so that you can know what to expect when RentACoder (vWorker) asks you to verify a payment for one of our services.

Why Verify In The First Place?

Since we don’t process payments ourselves, we rely on the procedures followed at the Rentacoder website. And because DCS (DocuMaker Communication Solutions(explain name change)) is part of the RentACoder (vWorker) workforce, you’ll need to verify your payment to secure a contract with us. It’s a small inconvenience that will ensure quality work from the DocuMaker team and protect your investment at the same time.

Rentacoder takes extra steps to verify that it is indeed you who placed an order, and not a credit card thief. With identity theft on a rise, the extra step of verifying that you’re who you say you are is a small price to pay towards protecting your personal information — especially on such a large and well-known commerce site such as RentACoder.

What To Expect

RentACoder (vWorker) operates from the east coast which delays verification by at least three hours for those living and working on the west coast.

So after assigning a job to DCS or accepting one of our bids, you’ll need to supply your full name, address, and phone number during the verification process. RentACoder (vWorker) will call you to make sure that you placed an order. Depending on the time of day, this call could take place immediately, or it could take place the following day.

If RentACoder (vWorker) decides to verify your payment between 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. EST, you may receive a call from one of the site’s friendly reps. The conversation that ensues is very quick and professional. After hours however, you may receive a call from RentACoder (vWorker)’s automated system.

This system gave us a bit of trouble when we tried to verify our Expert Guarantee. As with most automated systems, it didn’t accurately catch our response to the question that it asked and as a result, our payment wasn’t verified that moment. We thus had to wait until the next morning to receive a personal verification — a process that was seemingly over as soon as it began!

The apparent delay wasn’t significant enough to impact our ability to work however, because the verification only took a few seconds to complete the next morning.

Please take a few moments to complete our Payment Verification Survey.

So the message here is to not frustrate yourself over a small glitch which has probably been fixed already. Should you run into any problems, rest assured that the RentACoder (vWorker) staff is very friendly and will gladly assist you through any issues that arise. Any delay that you experience should rest in the comfort of knowing that your personal information is protected as well.
