Software Shopping
Looking for bargain software? You just might be surprised at your options. Online, you can find the best deals, save money, and in most cases, instantly download tremendous finds. Here’s how to take advantage of today’s online opportunities.
1. Comparison Shop for Software.
Comparison shopping at traditional stores takes an “internet f-o-r-e-v-e-r” when compared to comparison shopping online. While you may have access to 5 – 10 newspaper ad inserts, it can take days to sift through them all just to find the best price. Online however, you can accomplish the same thing in seconds! All it takes is a little savvy Googling or Yahooing! You can get a list of 10 – 100 websites that sell your preferred program and the prices at which it’s being sold.
2. Search for alternatives.
You don’t have to use commercial software! You can, instead, look for free or less expensive shareware alternatives. Open Office for example, is a cheaper alternative to Microsoft’s Office and yet it favorably compares. A lot of alternatives just like this one give the software buying public a significant opportunity to save money. You can find such an alternative here on the SavySoftware website. Our “Randy’s Reading Program” is a free alternative to “Hooked on Phonics.” Check it out!
3. Seek out promotional codes, 1 day sales, contests, coupons and other similar type promotions.
There are tons of websites that offer commercial products 30 to even 59 or 60 percent lower than retail price. Be aware that some of these websites require a membership fee while others do not. If that turns you off, consider the fact that a small fee gives you access to thousands of discounted commercial software products. That’s not a bad deal considering you could snag a popular PeachTree software product at half its shelf price!
4. Of course we can’t forget auction or classified ad websites like e-bay, amazon.com, and craigslist.
At these websites, you can get your hands on a used software product or a brand new software product that has been overstocked. The discounts at these websites are just as impressive as any other (if not just a tad bit better).
