broken contract

Has anyone here ever had to deal with a broken contract before, either yourself who needed to break it or someone you contracted? We might need to adjust a contract already in the works but I am unsure how to start.

I've never broken a contract but I have had people I've hired break the contract. To be honest, unless it's a large sum and the person lives in the same state as you (or at least the same country), there is very little you can do if someone breaks a contract. Even if they are in the same country, paying a lawyer and taking them to court is apt to cost you more than the work did in the first place.

That's why I don't bother doing contracts anymore. If I ever get involved in a large, costly project, then I'll take legal steps to protect myself but it's simply not worth it when you're talking less than a thousand dollars.
