How would I get into outsourcing?

I heard a while back that you can easily get a job in outsourcing, but I don't know where to start. First off, is it true that you can get a job for outsourcing and live at home? I'd like to work from home.

Any info is appreciated. :)

Start off by knowing exactly what skills you have to offer someone. Can you write? Do SEO? Install scripts? Create graphics? Whatever it is that you can do, chances are someone is willing to pay you to do it.

If you've got the skills, outsourcing isn't too difficult to get into. However it isn't easy to earn a full time living from it in the beginning, it takes time to build up just like any business.

Depending on your area of speciality, finding regular work does happen over time. Try joining vworker, take time to get to know how it works, build a good profile and you'll find yourself with plenty of work in no time. Good luck.

Just to clarify, you would not be getting into outsourcing. You would be getting into freelancing. Outsourcing is when you hire someone else to do a task. This conversation and the whole board will get confusing fast if we aren't using the same terminology.

You can into the outsourcing world by either applying to outsourcing companies or advertising your services as a freelance employee.

Outsourcing companies have been booming, especially in third world countries since the company can pay for the staff salaries for half the price. As a freelance, you can post your services in sites and can be employed by multiple clients. Multiple because some of the reasons these clients hire freelance is because the job is only by project, or at least really temporary.

Either way, one cannot guarantee which set-up provides the more secure job arrangement.
