HiretheWorld provides access to service providers located all over the world on a platform that allows for both traditional outsourcing and crowdsourcing-type projects. Its pricing structure makes HiretheWorld a rather unusual service, however, since all projects have a base costs. I.E., outsourcers can’t set their own prices the way they can at other, similar types of outlets.

HiretheWorld publicizes adequate contact information, such as support email addresses, a physical address, and a phone number.
Fees and Payments
HiretheWorld does not charge a fee on top of bid quotes. It instead, requires a base cost for each project. 1-5 uncoded web pages, for example, *start* at $465. Individual provider fees will, of course, raise costs. It accepts all major credit cards and PayPal, and provides a refund mechanism. Note that the service refunds only 85% of deposited funds. 15% is retained for operating costs.
Consumer Security
HiretheWorld works through a secured server, and is declared 'Norton Safe', but it is not accredited at the Better Business Bureau.
Full Disclosure
HiretheWorld's full FAQ and Privacy Policy are open to the public, but we couldn't locate a Terms of Service policy on the site.
Buzz Factor
Onsite, HiretheWorld provides a ratings/feedback system. Offsite, the service is not well-known, with only 70 external websites linking back to its own. See the Presence category for more.

HiretheWorld provides support via phone and email. It also offers an extensive help section.
Presence
At the time of its review, HiretheWorld, ranked 418,515 by Alexa, provides access to approximately 250 contractors. It maintains a company presence on Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook, but not Wikipedia. It has also released several press releases.

We suspect some of the low scores for this company are due to the company’s age. It appears to have just begun in 2010, so a large presence at this time shouldn’t be expected. Given its scores in other pertinent areas (transparency, secured server, feedback, refunds, etc.), we believe it’s a service that’s worth investigating if you’re comfortable with paying its base costs.
