We identified six major criticisms of outsourcing with an additional critique summing them up rather profanely. It’s important to know what these criticisms are beforehand, since they’ll educate you on what you’re about to encounter and they’ll arm you with information in the event you get into a nasty debate about your intentions.
Note this content isn’t to be taken lightly. The criticisms are real and they’re widespread. That’s why on any given day, you’ll find hoards of news reports avidly predicting the downfall of the outsourcing industry. And that’s why you’ll additionally find volumes of books doing the same…

Interesting. Previously working in the outsourcing consultancy business for the last 6 years, I know savings will not appear until after the first two or three years (depending on what's being outsourced), and even then those savings are minimal. Not even worth it in some cases. Productivity falls too no thanks to training and transition issues. I don't recommend it as it has proven to be too big of a headache, especially for companies who want immediate results which happens to be every single one of them.
People of all backgrounds seem to immediately point towards the idea of outsourcing as the main culprit in the downsizing of many technology jobs. While that is true, outsourcing has had some influence, it is not necessarily the focal point of jobs lost.
