uTest offers a platform for software testing in the functional, security, load, localization and usability testing development lifecycle. It provides web, mobile, and desktop application testing only from qualifying, service-selected providers (testers). Bidding is not available here as a result, and prices, determined after receiving answers to needs-specific questions, are quoted by the company itself.

| Contact Information | |
|---|---|
| uTest publicizes adequate contact information, such as support email addresses, a physical address, and a phone number. | |
| Fees and Payments | |
| uTest's fee structure is a bit confusing. It offers three payment models: a single testing cycle payment model, a test cycle package with a 14 day limit model, and a monthly subscription model. Each model appears to accompany a monthly subscription, nevertheless, which is required in full whether single testing is completed prior to a month's end or not. Subscriptions may be terminated only after giving a ninety (90) written day notice, and uTest does not issue 'roll over' credits. In addition, utest doesn't guarantee any number of testers, reported or approved test artifacts, or performance coverage. It accepts all major credit cards, but does not offer a money back guarantee. The only ramifications for poor tester (provider) performance, in fact, is a tester's removal from the service. | |
| Consumer Security | |
| uTest works through a secured server and is declared 'Norton Safe'. It is not, however, listed with the Better Business Bureau. | |
| Full Disclosure | |
| uTest's full Terms of Service and Privacy Policy are open to the public, but it does not appear to offer a traditional FAQ file. | |
| Buzz Factor | |
| Onsite, uTest does not provide a ratings/feedback system because it doesn't work from a bidding platform. Offsite, the service is somewhat well-known, with only 746 external websites linking back to its own. See the Presence category for more. | |
| Support | |
| uTest provides support via phone and email. It also offers an extensive help section. | |
| Presence | |
| As of the date of this review's publication, uTest, ranked 63,858 by Alexa, provides access to 45,000 contractors. It maintains a company presence on Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Wikipedia. It has also released several press releases. | |

Additional Comments
As mentioned, uTest’s fee structure is a bit confusing, and that confusion played a part in its rating. We strongly recommend that you call the company to clarify what you’ll be charged, and what your ongoing fees will be, should you decide to use the service.
