Icon Guide
To emphasize the importance of certain topics or points, we inserted several icons throughout this site. Here’s a brief table which outlines what each of these icons mean.
Icons
When you see this icon, it means the strategy right next to it is a guaranteed winner. This entire site is full of winning strategies actually, but these guaranteed winners kind of just “stick out.” |
This icon is meant as a warning. Don’t do what’s written next to this time bomb or you’ll be sorry. (Seriously) Not as deadly as the icon below, but severe enough to scare the dickens out of you nonetheless. |
This picture indicates a definite killer in the eyes of experts. If you’re determined to follow the strategy next to this little guy – you’re already dead. At least we can say we warned you. |
This icon marks important information. You’ll find a lot of these icons sprinkled throughout the site. So don’t ignore them. |
This picture describes software you can download and use to implement some of the strategies outlined within. Some of the software is ours while other programs belong to developers we have no relationship with what-so-ever. |
Here’s a pointer toward some information on the World Wide Web. To keep URLs short, we truncated some addresses with the free tinyurl.com or bit.ly service. |
This icon is similar to the warning icon above, only it’s not as severe. Still, we want to shout about it. |
If you see this icon, you’ll learn a new term or discover new reading material generally exclusive to the topic we’re describing. |
This image marks a to-do list. It indicates it’s either time to a) retrieve an item that you filed away earlier – or – b) perform some type of task related to the content that it sits next to. |
When you see this eyeball staring at you, it means you should keep an eye out for the content right next to it. Winking back is permitted. |
An open folder means it’s time to a) do “something” (we tell you what) and then b) file that “something” away for later use. |
This icon signifies the opportunity to access and send email to someone or some entity you might not have known about before. |
Like the icon above, this icon signifies the opportunity to access the phone number of someone or some entity you might not have known about before. |
Sometimes there’s a lot of stuff to research, and instead of listing every resource available, we let you have the pleasure of sifting through it all. And that’s just what this icon indicates. |
Now what else could a pair of 80’s shades indicate other than something really really cool!? Oh yeah — ZZ Top! (But hey, they’re cool too…) |
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. (Whatever, right?) Pull your sleeves up when you see this icon. It’s time to get busy! |
Like with the death icon, you’ll want to trash whatever’s next to this one. We’re not particularly fond of putting bad ideas on the site, but when they’re part of a point we’re trying to make, they require a presence. |
One More ThingWe created a database program that can help you keep track of your outsourcing projects and coders. It’s currently in beta stage, but you’re welcome to download it and give it a test run. We’ll appreciate your feedback as we work on its improvement..
