Advertising Your Website Offline

Don’t forget to read our Advertising Outsourcing News section as well. There’s some important information in there!

It’s very important that you don’t forget the importance of offline advertising. Sure, advertising online is a bit easier and less expensive than it is offline, but it only contributes to half of the profit pie. In fact, by focusing your efforts solely to the online environment, you’re ignoring a significant portion of the population who uses the Internet sparingly, if at all!

A Good Read: Multichannel Marketing: Metrics and Methods for On and Offline Success

Offline advertising increases local awareness of your online business. Sometimes when we work with a global medium like the Internet, we tend to forget the opportunities that immediately surround us. Here are some activities you can do to advertise your online business, offline – and re-embrace those who make up your own community and more:

Offline Advertising Activities

Advertise on bumper stickers
Advertise on your product’s packaging
Advertise through your own voice mail
Ask for referrals from local vendors/suppliers
Attend conventions & conferences
Attend social events related to your topic
Display an advertisement sign on car
Get a guest appearance on radio or television
Hand out flyers
Hang postcard notices on grocery store pegboards or other public place bulletin boards
Host an important event
Participate in related book clubs
Pass out your own business cards
Place ads in local papers
Publish a book
Publish a few articles in related magazines
Send out direct mail
Situate yourself in your target-market‘s place of business
Start your own workshop or seminar
Volunteer in a visible position
Wear clothing with your logo & name on it

Think Outside the Net

We’re sure you can think of more – the idea here is to get your mind off of the Internet for a while, think “outside of the net,” and start promoting your website in the wide open – even if it’s just for a day! With a little creative thinking, joint collaboration, and negotiating, you just might find that these strategies aren’t as expensive as you first thought.
