Database Online Help

If you haven’t already, register a username for yourself so you can discuss this topic in our OnSite Outsourcing Services forum.

One of the great things about our database downloads is that they’re quite easy to use. You never need 3rd party software to use our databases because they’re self-contained. You can in fact, run any one of our databases and start entering your data as soon as its installed. Here are some answers to some commonly asked questions:

1. How do I enter in my data?

Entering data into our databases is no different than entering data into an MS Access database or FileMaker Pro database. Simply click in or tab to the field that you want to fill in, and start typing.

2. How do I delete a record?

To delete a record, click the [Delete] button at the bottom of the database screen.

3. How do I delete an entire database?

To delete an entire database, click [Delete Database] from the [Edit] menu.

4. How can I search for a record?

Searching the database creates a filter. Enter your search criteria in the blu-ish textbox above the database fields and then click the name of a field to filter the database according to your search criteria. The filter function limits the display of records to those that match a specific query.

Consequently, the First Record, Previous Record, Next Record and Last Record navigation buttons display only the records that match a query. In addition, the table view displays only the records that match the query as well. If you click the magnifying glass next to the textbox instead, the database program will search the internet.

5. Can I go to a specific record?

Yes. Click [Go To Record] from the [Edit] menu and enter a record’s number.

6. Can I import data that I already have?

Yes. Click [Import Database] from the [File] menu. You can import text files only. Each text file must contain the same number of fields that you see in the database that you’re working with.

7. How do I export data for use in a different database program?

Click [Export Database] from the [File] menu. Your data will be exported as a. csv file.

8. How do I print a record?

To print the current record, click the print icon at the top of the database.

9. Is there a way to print an entire database?

Yes. Click [Print Database] from the [File] menu.

10. Do your databases show tables? And can I work with them?

Our databases show tables and you can work with them the same way you would work with the typical spreadsheet.

11. I need to add more data. How can I do that?

NewDatabase database fields are generally limited to 35 characters. If you need more wiggle room, ask us to develop a custom database for you.

12. I think I found a bug. Can you fix it?

Of course! But you have to tell us about it first. Send all bug reports to support@justoutsourcing.com
